MASTER'S DEGREE RESEARCH THESIS
Fall 2014 - Spring 2015

BUILDING INFORMATION MODELNG IN INTERIOR DESIGN EDUCATION: STUDENT AND EDUCATOR EXPERIENCE: Study approved by IRB used electronic surveys to faculty and students of all 185 CIDA-accredited interior design programs in North America. Goals of study were to evaluate use of BIM software in higher education interior design programs and assess potential impact of BIM software on design process of students.

DESIGN STUDIO PROJECTS

INDEPENDENT STUDY: GUSTAVIAN DESIGN IN REVIT
Fall 2014

This project was developed to master advanced modeling techniques in Revit through custom modeling of a dining room in a typical Swedish manor house of the Gustavian period.  Custom architectural details and furnishings were created using Revit.

MULTI-USE SPACE
Spring 2014

MINERALS BY THE SEA, SOCHI, RUSSIA:  A 14,000 sq. ft. center for Olympic athletes to dine, socialize, shop, and obtain spa and physical therapy treatments. Inspiration drawn from the historic mineral spas of 1930s Sochi, with influences of Constructivist architecture and the art of Wasily Kandinsky.

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
Fall 2013

CENTER FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION & PHYSICAL THERAPY: Group project in cooperation with Marymount physical therapy students. Space planning, budget-constrained renovation, and furniture selection were provided for an 890 sq. ft non-profit clinic in Costa Rica.

OFFICE DESIGN
Spring 2013

GE COMPANY HEADQUARTERS, ARLINGTON, VA: A 24,000 sq. ft. open collaborative office space highlighting the branding of the General Electric Company and emphasizing sustainable design principles. This studio project spanned all phases of the design process including a detailed set of construction documents.

HOSPITALITY DESIGN
Fall 2012

LOTUS RESORT & SPA, TENGBOCHE, NEPAL: A 10,000 sq. ft. luxury hotel lobby, restaurant, and spa set in the foothills of Mount Everest. The space was designed for rejuvenation and restoration of climbers of Mount Everest, as well as for individuals who desire to experience the local culture and beauty of the Himalayas.

RESIDENTIAL DESIGN
Spring 2011

LIVING WITH AUTISM:  A 1,400 sq. ft. rambler style home was re-designed to accommodate the unique needs of a family of three composed of a grandmother, mother, and 5 year old boy with autism.

ADDITIONAL PROJECTS

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN WEBSITE
Summer 2014

For a course in Sustainability, this project involved creation of a website showcasing research of sustainable materials. The information on my website is directed toward interior designers tasked with designing an infant's nursery.

3D NARRATIVE SRUCTURE
Fall 2009

The goal of this project was to convey a story through design of a 3-dimensional structure. I created a 2' x 2' x 1' Tansu style chest depicting my friend's life and brave battle with cancer. The project was selected for a juried art show at Marymount University.
